Terms of use

Last updated: 13 October 2026. By using Hoekedex you agree to these terms, the privacy policy and the guidelines.

This is a translation. If they differ, the Dutch version applies.

With a wink

The whole app was made with a wink, as a joke, and is meant for fun: not as a contest and not as a judgement of people. Use it decently, with respect for others. Never do anything you or someone else doesn’t want: always ask for consent first, respect a ‘no’ (from someone else and from yourself), and only play if you’re 18 or older.

In short

  • Hoekedex is for adults only, and you only add adults.
  • Your data lives on your phone. You are responsible for it, including backups. We can’t get anything back.
  • Nothing in the app is an order. Drinking, spicy questions and challenges are always voluntary.
  • Treat other people’s information, locations and photos with care. Sharing without consent is not allowed.
  • Purchases are one-time. There are no subscriptions.

1. Who offers Hoekedex

Hoekedex (the app, the relay and this website) is made and offered by the makers of Hoekedex (“we”). You can reach us at info@hoekedex.net. Report abuse at info@hoekedex.net.

2. For 18+ only

Hoekedex is about dating, intimacy and sex, and many group games can be played with drinks. That’s why the app is only meant for people aged 18 and over. By using the app you declare that you are at least 18. In Hoekedex you only record information about adults, never about minors.

3. What Hoekedex is, and what it isn’t

Hoekedex was made with a wink: a personal game and diary in which you collect the people you meet as cards, and in which you play games with friends and groups. It is not a dating service, not a background check and not a way to verify who someone is. Don’t rely on it for that.

Hoekedex works without an account and without a central database. Your cards and progress live on your own phone. For contact with others the app uses a relay that only passes messages on (see the privacy policy).

4. Games, drinks and Extreme

  • Everything is voluntary. You can skip any question, dare, challenge or sip, and you can always stop. That goes for everyone you play with too.
  • Drink mode: every group game also works without drinks, and water always counts. If you play with drinks, drink responsibly, know your limit and never drink and drive. You are responsible for what you drink.
  • Extreme: this level is off by default and only for adults who all want it. Whoever switches it on confirms that everyone playing is 18+ and agrees.
  • Challenges and dares are never a reason to cross someone’s boundary, do something dangerous or break the law.

5. Your data and your responsibility

  • Your phone, your control. We have no copy of your cards, friends, groups or purchases. If you lose your phone or delete the app without a backup, your data is gone. So make backups regularly and remember your backup password.
  • What you record about others. You are responsible for what you store, especially when it’s about other people. Only record what you lawfully know, and only use it for yourself.
  • Photos and locations. Only take and share photos with the consent of the people in them. Never share intimate images of someone else. Only share your location with people you trust, and don’t pressure anyone into sharing theirs.
  • What you send. Messages, snaps and photos end up on other people’s phones. We can’t remove them from there, and we can’t stop screenshots.

6. Right of use

You get a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use Hoekedex for yourself. You may not:

  • abuse or overload the relay, get around limits or send automated messages (spam);
  • attack other users or the relay, or try to get around encryption or signatures;
  • use the radar or the Friend radar to follow, search for or harass someone;
  • share, resell or forge licence codes;
  • sell or commercially use the app, or take it apart or change it, except as far as the law allows.

Hoekedex, the design and the name remain ours and our licensors’. The APK you download here is the same app as in the browser; only install it from this website.

You may not copy, decompile or reverse engineer the app, decrypt or decode its code, get around its protections (such as the check on the official address or on the app’s signature), or distribute, host or sell a copy or imitation, except as far as the law expressly allows.

7. Rules of conduct

You follow the guidelines. Zero tolerance applies to the most serious violations. You never make, keep or send:

  • sexual or suggestive content about minors, or about someone who looks like a minor, not even drawn, AI-generated or written;
  • intimate images of someone without their explicit consent, or threats to share them;
  • content that harasses, stalks, threatens or blackmails someone, or that makes someone’s personal details public;
  • hateful content, or content that promotes exploitation, human trafficking or coercion;
  • other illegal content, or content that infringes someone else’s rights.

8. Blocking, reporting and what we can do

You can block anyone. Your phone then throws away everything that person sends, and the relay passes nothing on. You can always leave a group or game room, and whoever makes a group or room can remove someone.

Report abuse at info@hoekedex.net. We can’t see any messages, photos or cards: they are encrypted or only on phones. Where technically possible, we limit abuse of the relay. For crimes, such as spreading nude images without consent, blackmail or stalking, file a report with the police. More about this in the guidelines.

9. Purchases

  • Hoekedex is free to play; you get 20 free games to try the premium ones. The All-Access Pass, Hoekedex Forever, Legendary Supporter, extra themes, Hoekedex Pro, the Couples Pack and the Summer Pass are one-time purchases. The Group Pass (7 days for one group) and Party Rolls are bought per use. Prices are in euros, including VAT. There are no subscriptions.
  • If you buy through the App Store or Google Play, Apple’s or Google’s terms also apply, including for payment and refunds.
  • In the browser you buy a licence code. It’s personal: don’t share it. Keep it safe so you can enter it again on a new device.
  • A purchase is delivered right after payment. If you expressly agree to this when buying, your 14-day right of withdrawal ends as soon as delivery has started. Your legal rights if something doesn’t work as promised always remain: just get in touch with us.
  • Purchases sit in the vault on your phone and go along in your backup.
  • You can get your money back as described on the Refunds page. A refunded code then stops working everywhere.

Paid extras (themes, Hoekedex Pro, the Couples Pack and the Summer Pass) come later. Until then you can’t buy anything in Hoekedex and this section doesn’t apply yet.

10. Availability and updates

We update Hoekedex regularly. Sometimes you need to install a new version to stay connected. We do our best to keep the relay reachable, but we can’t promise it always works. We can change or stop features. What you’ve already bought, we won’t take away from you.

11. Liability

Hoekedex is provided as is. We are not liable for loss of data on your phone, for what other users do or send, for what you do during a game or challenge, or for indirect damage. If we are liable after all, that is limited to the amount you paid for Hoekedex in the 12 months before, with a minimum of €50. This limit doesn’t apply in case of intent or gross negligence, nor as far as the law doesn’t allow it.

12. Stopping

You can always stop by choosing ‘Delete everything’ or removing the app. If you break these terms or the guidelines, we can limit your access to the relay, as far as that’s technically possible.

13. Through the App Store

If you got Hoekedex through the App Store, these terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or for support. Where these terms don’t cover something, Apple’s standard licence agreement applies.

14. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection your country’s consumer law gives you. We bring disputes before the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you the right to go to the court where you live.
